For an out-of-state minister to perform a Virginia wedding ceremony at The Homestead, please send a letter of request to:

Include date and place of ceremony and names of bride and groom, include proof of ordination. Minister must then go to Warm Springs Court House and take an oath of office (fee of $10).
Food Function Locations
We have various function rooms suitable for a wedding ceremony, reception, dinner, lunch or hospitality (based on availability).
Room rental fees are as follows:
- Tower Suite - $500
- Crystal Room - $1,500
- Empire Room - $1,500
- Dominion - $1,000
- Casino Lawn - $750 for ceremony set-up only- $1,500 for catered functions
- Commonwealth Room - $1,500
- Regency Ballroom - $1,500
- Mt. Vernon - $1,000
- Stratford - $1,500
- Grand Ballroom - $7,000
- Fishing Pond - $250 for ceremony set-up only - $500 for catered functions
Outdoor and remote wedding locations away from The Homestead may include set up fees. All off-site locations are subject to a transportation fee based on the number of guests attending.
Food & Beverage Service
*The Homestead offers meal package room rates for guest attending a wedding reception. In most cases, wedding room blocks are on the bed & breakfast plan and have no allocation for dinner built into the rate package. Therefore, please refer to "EP" European Plan pricing when planning your selections from our menus.
For budget purposes, when planning a wedding reception at The Homestead, estimate $150 per person for the traditional evening reception including a plated dinner, or $175 per person for food stations of hors d'oeuvres, entrée, slice of wedding cake, and glass of champagne.
Wedding Cake
The Homestead has its own award-winning Pastry Chef, Michel Finel, who invites you to bring a photograph of your favorite cake so that it can be duplicated for your Virginia wedding.

Obtaining your Marriage License
If the Bride and groom are out-of-state residents, a marriage license for your Virginia wedding can be obtained from:
The Bath County Circuit Court
Open Monday through Friday 8:30 - 4:30.
If either the bride or groom or both are Virginia residents, marriage license should be obtained from county of residence. The fee for your license will be $35. Virginia has no waiting period, no blood test, or witnesses required for a wedding.

Any fee for the celebrant or minister is up to the discretion of the groom or couple. Should an area church not accommodate your Virginia wedding needs, one of our function rooms can be transformed into your "chapel".
